Mary Kay Lanting, 63, of Orange, died Monday, May 16th, 2022 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. She was a longtime resident of Orange and was previously in Canada for 18 years. She loved basketball but especially Russell Westbrook she would follow whatever team he was on. She was a simple person who loved her family, her grandchildren, and loved going on cruises. She took a lot of pride in her work at Kroger in the 24 years she worked there, and loved her Kroger family and the customers she met along the way. Her visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2022 beginning at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Her funeral service will be Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange, TX. She is survived by her children Jane Anne and husband Chuck Ayarza of Guthrie, OK, JB and wife Victoria Lanting of Baytown, TX, Dillin and wife Danielle Lanting of Corpus Christi, TX, mother Doris Jane Steele of Orangefield, TX, sister Vicki King of Orangefield, TX, brother Mark Steele and wife Candice of Orangefield, TX, grandchildren: Jonathan Ayarza, Joshua Ayarza, Jessica Ayarza, Dustin Ayarza, Bethany Ayarza, Kylee Lanting, Jennings Lanting, Benton Lanting, Landon Lanting, and Khloe Lanting, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Lanting, and father Gene Steele.
