Martha Ann Thomas Torres

Martha Torres, 87, of Vidor died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Gist, she was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and was a homemaker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a Christian Vigil to begin at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Martha was preceded in death by her son Christopher Jay Torres, parents Henry and Zadie Thomas, brothers John “Buck” Thomas, A. H. “Pistol” Thomas, and Bill Thomas, sisters Alice Graham, Lonie Wallace, and Stella Hoffpauir. Martha is survived by her husband OJ Torres, daughters Karen Fran Clark, and Debra Ann Emfinger, brothers Virge Thomas, Lenard “Rip” Thomas, and George Thomas all of Vidor, sister Fannie Carpenter of Wildwood, six grandchildren: Joseph Mark Keith, Lee Albert Clark, Monica Lane Portie, Lucas Elliot Torres, Simon Joel Torres, and Timothy Evan Torres, eight great grandchildren: Elijah and Josie Keith, Dillon, Jake, Brenner and Carley Portie, Micah Torres, and Laila Torres.
