Marcus Allen Desha, 29, of Mauriceville died Friday, January 9, 2009 at his residence. A native of Galveston, TX, he has lived in Mauriceville for the last 4 years. Marcus was a 1998 Lumberton High School graduate and a cook. Graveside services will held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. Marcus is preceded in death by his grandfather Marcus Desha, Jr. He is survived by his wife Kristen Desha of Mauriceville, TX, mother and step-father Penny and Lavon Shafer of Lumberton, TX, grandparents Don and Carol Hollingsworth of Bastrop, TX, brother Michael McCain of Wichita, KS, sister Alisha Hooks of Town Bluff, TX, aunt Rose Cash of Vidor, TX, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
