Mallie Bickham, 79, of Vidor died Monday, May 16, 2016 at Harbor Hospice Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Starks, Louisiana, he was raised in Deweyville, TX and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Mallie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, were he was past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #5789. He was on the Vidor city council for 6 years and was a past member of the school board for Deweyville ISD. Mallie enjoyed golf, fishing, snow skiing and carpentry. He loved people, especially his family and never met a stranger. Mallie was a huge Texas Longhorn fan and was very patriotic. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, May 20, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Deweyville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a rosary at 7:30 pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home. Mallie is survived by his wife of 27 years Carolyn Bickham of Vidor, TX, sons Bobby Johnson and his wife Beverly of Selmar, TN, Rodney Bickham of Broadus, TX, Jason Bickham of Little Cypress, TX, Dwight Bickham and his wife Christina of Little Cypress, TX, David Rowe of Vidor, TX, daughters Sonja Bihm of Vidor, TX, Brigitte Boullion and her husband Darren of Orangefield, TX, Shellie Rowe of Vidor, TX, brothers John "Red" Bickham of Crockett, TX, and Wattie Bickham of Deweyville, TX, 25 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
