Lyman Frugia, Jr., 93, of Rose City, TX died Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at The Gardens Hospice in Beaumont, TX. He was a lifetime resident of Rose City and a member of First United Methodist Church of Vidor, TX. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He retired from the Pure Oil/ Unocal Refinery in May of 1985. His love of baseball led to his involvement in Vidor Little League, both building the little league field and as a manager and umpire for the first Little League baseball teams. He also served as councilman and as mayor of Rose City. After his retirement, he was able to spend time with his new-found hobby of wood-turning. Working with wood brought him many hours of enjoyment. Lyman was preceded in death by Doris Saucier Frugia, his wife of 68 years, He is survived by his daughters, Noel Ann McCord of Beaumont, TX and Martha Gooch and husband Robert of Hemphill, TX, his grandchildren, Corey Gooch of Ingleside, TX, Allison Witschorke and husband Stephen of Seguin, TX, and Erin McCord of Beaumont, TX, his great-grandchildren, Ashlynne, Connor and Avery Gooch, of Ingleside, TX and Seth Witschorke of Seguin, TX and his sister Lillian Frugia, of Beaumont, TX. In lieu of flowers: First United Methodist Church, Vidor TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 16, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
