Luther Jerry Stanley

Jerry Stanley, 77 of Vidor died Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at his residence. A native of Gilmer, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. When Jerry was younger his family owned a lumber mill where he co owned Land R Lot Clearing and Tree Removal with his father. In the late 1950's Jerry moved to California and learned cabinetry from his older brother Odell. Jerry came back to Vidor and started Southeast Texas Woodworks Co.. He had earned his real estate license and was a member of Christ Community Church in Vidor. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and horse racing. Jerry and his late wife Irma lived on the Neches River where they enjoyed to fish. Jerry also enjoyed hunting. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 2:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services will begin at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Irma Nell Stanley, parents Luther and Mylene Stanley, brothers John and Odell Stanley. He is survived by his sons Jerry Wayne Stanley Sr. and his wife Ann, Terry Stanley and his wife Kristi, and Michael "Mike" Stanley and his wife Christine all of Vidor, TX, sister Kathleen Jennings of Alvin, TX, brothers Glen Stanley and Lonnie Stanley both Vidor, TX, 7 grandchildren Jessica Stanley, Jerry Wayne Stanley Jr, Danielle Toth, Ashley Crain, Tristan Stanley, Heather Stanley, and Dakota DeWitt and 7 great grandchildren. in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org
