Lorraine F. Broussard, 87, of Vidor passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in Orange, TX. She was born June 19, 1920 in Olmito, TX., to her proud parents Winnie Stanton Fanning and Henry Hayes Fanning. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, and was a retired school teacher from Oak Forest Elementary in Vidor after 20 years of faithful service. She was also a member of the Vidor Eastern Star Chapter, Spirit of Hope, Retired Teacher’s Association, Wildflower Society, Vidor Garden Club, Alpha Delta Kappa, and loved to play dominoes. She lived in Choupique, Louisiana where she was a member of Sulphur Town and Country Garden Club, and attended Vincent Settlement Baptist Church, prior to moving back to Texas. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, son Jody Broussard, brothers Henry Fanning, and Gene Fanning, and sister Fay James. She is survived by her son Jay Broussard and his wife Charlotte of Vidor, daughters Jan Lyons of Vidor, and Jena Price and her husband Jim of Lake Charles, LA., ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
