Loretta Chesser Byerly, 83, resident of Vidor, Texas, passed November 29, 2008 at her home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 , Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor. Officiating will be Mark Legendre, minister of North Main Church of Christ in Vidor. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial in Vidor. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor beginning at 6:00.
Loretta Chesser Byerly, 83, was born on January 14, 1925, in Dunn, Texas. She has been an example of strength to all who have known her. She is a three time cancer survivor and for the last four years has been on dialysis three times a week. She has always managed to keep smiling and taking life a day at a time.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Byerly, parents, Ruby and Abshire Chesser, and four brothers, Alton Chesser, Melvin Chesser, Wayne Chesser, and John Earl Chesser.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Ernest Bayard of Vidor, two grandsons, Ron McPhee of Scott, Louisiana and Rolin McPhee of Longview, Texas; three sisters, Nora Darden of Vidor, IIene Ramsey of Vidor, and Linda Sarver of Sachse, Texas; three brothers, Don Chesser of Beaumont, James Chesser of Vidor, and Carl Chesser of LaBelle.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Chesser, James Chesser, Carl Chesser, Mike Sarver, James Lee, and Kevin Chesser. Song Director will be Gregory Chesser.
Her family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care and kindness show to her by Dr. Suresh Indupalli, Dr. Timothy Colgan, Dr. Robert Bidwell, Dr. Harold Bencowitz, Dr. Raymond Derderian, Doris Jones, and the many technicians at the Golden Triangle Dialysis Center. Special thanks to her brothers and sisters in Christ at North Main Church of Christ of Vidor, for their prayers, words of encouragement and numerous cards and letters.
