Lorene Sowell

Lorene Sowell, 75 of Vidor died September 8, 2003 at Schlesinger Geriatric Center of Beaumont Born in Palestine, TX, she lived in Vidor since 1948 and was a retired choral teacher for Vidor I.S.D. for 32 years. She was a graduate from Sam Houston State University and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and a past-president of Delta Kappa Gamma of Orange. Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at First Baptist Church of Vidor with Rev. Terry Wright and Andy Narramore officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband Brady O. Sowell. She is survived by her sons, John Etta Sowell of Vidor, Charles Regena Sowell of Denson Springs, Tx, Joe Charlotte Sowell of Mauriceville; brothers, F.A. Jarrard Jr. of Houston and Robert Jarrard of Conroe; sisters, Molly Ficken of Austin, Tx, Lois Fuiten of Palestine, Tx, Iva Lene Goodman of Wimberly, Tx, Linnie Gurganus of Tyler, Tx and Charlotte Jarrard of Albuquerque, N.M.; Grandchildren are Kirk Sowell of Houston, Eric Sowell of Dallas, Tiffany Connolly of Mauriceville and Jeremy Sowell of Houston. Great Grandchildren are Lukas Logan Connolly of Mauriceville and Jonathan Sowell of Dallas. In lieu of flowers: First Baptist Church Designated Music Fund.
