Lola Smith

Lola Smith, 88, longtime resident of Vidor went to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 25th, 2021. A native of New Iberia, Louisiana, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a Beautician in Beaumont for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family,especially her grandchildren. Lola was preceded in death by her husband James "Cotton" Smith Sr., son James "Jimmy" Smith Jr., daughter Kathee Smith. She is survived by her daughter Mary LaPoint and her husband Jody of Vidor, TX, sister Mary Alice Bailey of New Iberia, LA, 4 grandchildren Michelle Southern, Jay Smith, Elizabeth Gray, and Halie LaPoint and 2 great grandchildren. We would like to thank her caregivers Erica and Emilyas well as Best Hospice for her continued care through this challenging time. Visitation and rosary will be held from 9:00 a.m. and the mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
