Lois Ruth Roberts

Lois Ruth Roberts, 89, of Vidor died Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, TX. She was born January 1, 1927 to Lloyd and Lucy Presswood in DeKalb, Texas, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor. Lois Ruth graduated from Commerce High School, as salutatorian, in Commerce, TX. She graduated from East Texas Teachers College in Commerce, now Texas A&M Commerce. Lois Ruth taught school in Vidor in the 1960's and 1970's. She taught many students typing, many who have said that they are so happy now they have that skill, after retiring from teaching, she took art lessons and was a skilled artist from the start. Lois Ruth was married to Ray Roberts and they spent many days traveling in their RV to flea markets and casinos. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Monday, October 10, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Lois Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ray Roberts, son Ronnie, parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son Jerry Roberts and his wife Debbie, grandsons Chad and his wife Misty, Shaun and his wife Tiffany, great-grandsons Zach and Andrew Roberts, Chase Miller and Michael Gordon, great granddaughters Breelyn Roberts, Rylee Roberts and Kaitlyn Gordon, sister Mary Alice Owens of Waxahachi, TX.
