Lois Lorene Payne

Lois Lorene Berry Payne March 10, 1926 - July 5, 2008 Lois Lorene Berry Payne was born March 10, 1926, in Beaumont, Texas to Dempsey Berry and Hazel Lee Berry. Lois was raised in the Vidor - Rose City area, and married her one and only love, Leon Pelham 'Pete' Payne, on May 10, 1941. They lived a blessed life, full of love for 54 years until Pete left his bride, to be with his Father in Heaven, on November 15, 1995. Together, they had four children; Linda Jean, Sharon Lynn, Larry Lyonel and Cynthia Lou. Lois left this life to reside in eternity with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 5, 2008, and was reunited with Pete and their first born child Linda Jean. Lois was a devoted wife and mother, and a very talented homemaker and seamstress. She enjoyed her family, her travels with Pete, and the fellowship of her sisters in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was Past Worthy Matron of Vidor OES Chapter 914. Lois is survived by her children, Sharon and Elmer Ray White of Vidor, Larry and Linda Payne of Vidor, and Cindy and David Brack of Beaumont, seven grandchildren; Glynn Ray White, Janna White Smith, Kevin Payne, Kristi Payne, Ashley Drake, John Brack and William Brack, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Clarice Morse and her husband Jesse 'Dub' Morse of Vidor, and one brother, Lester Berry and wife Sue, of Columbus, MS. Lois was blessed with devoted caregivers and extended family members, Jennifer Turner and Julie Turner. Visitation will begin Monday, July 7, 2008, at 6:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 10:00 am, with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
