Lillian Frances Bell

Lillian F. Bell, 90, of Vidor died Tuesday January 6, 2004 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. She lived in Wildwood for 8 years before moving to Vidor 1 ½ years ago. Lillian retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 47 years as an Telephone Operator, she spent a lot of her retirement fishing with her two best friends, Mary Joyce Lawson and Alice Carrington, in Rollover Pass. She played Basketball with Babe Zaharias and was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday January 9, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday January 8, 2004 at the funeral home. Lillian is survived by her daughter: Delores Whitmire and her husband Jessie R. of Wildwood, TX., 3 grandchildren: James Byerly of Mountain Groves, MO., Jarrell Byerly of Beaumont, TX., Becky Lee of Vidor, TX., 5 great-grandchildren: Angie Brown and Byron Lee both of Vidor, TX., Jared Byerly and Ross Byerly both of Mountian Groves, MO., Jennifer Godwin of Vidor, TX., 7 great great-grandchildren: Alexzandra Lee, Taylor Lee, Garrett Brown, Bryan Godwin, Toby Godwin, Will Godwin, Bailey Godwin. She is preceded in death by her brothers: John Peet, Cutis Peet, Jessie Peet, sisters: Stella Smith, Vivian Dorman and a granddaughter: Alisa Ann Byerly. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to, Pine Forest Baptist Church of Vidor, 4800 N. Main, Vidor, Texas 77662, and Hospice of Texas, 3843 Stagg Dr., Beaumont, Texas 77701.
