Leslie Howard Price, 85, of Vidor, Texas went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 19, 2016. He was born in Merkel, Texas on October 12, 1930 to Leona and Charles Price.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service he attended Hardin-Simmons University where he met Juanita Stagg and fell in love. They were married at First Baptist Church in Vidor in 1952.
Starting his business career in San Antonio, Texas, Les and Nita chose Vidor as their home where he served the community as an insurance agent for many years.
He was a long time member of First Baptist Church Vidor, where he found joy in serving as a Deacon and in other capacities for many years. He loved his church family dearly and looked forward to worshiping the Lord at every opportunity.
Les loved to participate in both fast and slow pitch softball. He also looked forward to playing church volleyball with his friends and family. Many family vacations were enjoyed camping at Sam Rayburn lake as well as in the majestic mountains of the United States and Canada.
In his retirement years, he developed a passion for woodturning and spent countless hours in his shop creating many beautiful works of art, which he loved to share with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Juanita, and parents, Charlie and Lena Price, and brother Johnny.
Les is survived by his wife Delorous of Beaumont, Texas; son, Jim and his wife Jaye of Vidor; daughter, Becky Revia and her husband Rick of Vidor; son Alan and his wife Carol of San Antonio, Texas. Sisters, Charlene Heatly, Ina Rains and husband Lyndell, all of Abilene. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Peggy Smith and husband W.T., along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In Les’s latter years, he opened his heart to Delorous with whom he found love and companionship. Les was honored to share his love with her children and their families.
Through his example, Les taught us that the true blessings of this life come from serving the Lord and loving your family.
