Leon Platt

Leon Platt, 83, a lifelong resident of Vidor, TX passed away on Friday, November 14th, 2014. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. Leon was an avid deer hunter and served on the church kitchen committee for many years. He also loved spending quality time with his family and friends. Leon is survived by a daughter, Judy Richard and husband Don of Vidor, a son Gary Platt and wife Karrie, also of Vidor, 4 grandchildren, Mandy Hoge and husband Eric of Vidor, Adam Richard of Euless, TX, Shane Platt of Houston, TX, and Laura Platt of Austin, TX. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, A.J. Hoge and Tori Hoge. Leon is preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret Mayes Platt of 52 years. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
