Leon King

Leon King, 74, of Vidor died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at his residence. A native of Bronson, Texas he has lived in Vidor since 1954, and was a retired installer for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Mr. King has been a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church since 1962, he proudly served his church through the bus ministry as mechanic, and driver, and as a church greeter. Mr King was also a proud member of the Pine Forest Masonic Lodge # 1420. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2003 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie McLeod King of Vidor, TX., son, Randy King and wife Sharon of Longview, TX., daughters, Winona Lindsey and husband Larry of Beaumont, TX., and Melissa King also of Beaumont, TX., sisters, Abilene McBride of Town Bluff, TX., and Dorothy Phillips of Lumberton, TX. Three grandchildren: Clint King, Lindsay King, and Lana Lindsey.
