Legatha Ann Angele

Legatha Ann (Bellard) Angele, 86, a longtime resident of Vidor, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

As a native Vidorian, Legatha spent many years as a part of the local community. She was a fixture in the banking community for 37 years and was active in the Vidor Chamber of Commerce. She was instrumental in ensuring the Go-Texan Vidor Bar-B-Que festival ran smoothly throughout her tenure. During her free time, Legatha loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren at every opportunity.

Legatha is survived by her children: Gunter Meyer Jr., Karen Stricklan, Harvey Lynn Meyer and wife Beth, and Leo Angele II and wife Kerie; her cherished grandchildren: Heather Cross, Jessica Pace and husband Matthew, Marc Meyer, Leo Angele III, Lindsay Angele, and Ryan O'Connor; her precious great-grandchildren: Raegan Pace, Brooklyn Pace, and Blaine O'Connor; and her brother L.D. Bellard and life partner Doris.

Legatha was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Maud Bellard, and sister, Joan Dolores Chesser.

The family would like to thank the Heart to Heart hospice employees for providing her with love and care.

Funeral arrangements are provided by Memorial Funeral Home, 1750 Hwy 12, Vidor, TX 77662. Visitation starts at 12:00 PM on March 9th, with funeral service at 1:00 PM.
