Laverne Knight

LaVerne E. Knight, 88 of Vidor died Friday, March 9th, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of DeRidder, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. LaVerne was a member of River of Life Church in Vidor and was cafeteria worker in Vidor High School for years. She enjoyed going out to eat and playing Bingo. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Memorial funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Providence Cemetery in Rose Pine, Louisiana at 2:00 pm. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Elmer knight, siblings Harvey, Clovis, O'Neal, Bruce and Glenn White, Latane Bates, Lanell Kreyssig, Genevia Irvin. She is survived by her children Joyce and Ted Springs of Vidor, TX, Benny and Theresa Knight of Vidor, TX, Betty and Bobby Stanley of Lumberton, TX, Kenneth and Christy Knight of China, TX, brother Sherman White of Vidor, TX, sister Ann Casey of Vidor, TX, 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
