Larry V. Franklin, 64, of Vidor died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Houston. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Larry was retired and was a captain with the Orange County Sheriffs investigation division. He was a Vidor Police Officer and served his country in the US Army during the Viet-Nam conflict. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Larry is survived by his wife Carolyn Franklin, son Jon Franklin of Austin, TX, Jason Franklin of Eagle Mountain, UT, daughter Cindy Marion, Marti Franklin, Amy Franklin all of Vidor, TX, Holly Montondon of Houston, TX, Crystal Gerage of Vidor, Heather Franklin of Washington D.C., Jennefer Franklin of Vidor, TX, brother Larkin Franklin of Vidor, TX, sisters Mavy Palmer and Jane Hanks both of Vidor, TX, Joan Hatch Vernal, UT, and 13 grandchildren.
