Larkin Calvin Franklin

Larkin C. Franklin, 75, of Vidor died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his residence. A native of Houston, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Larkin was a retired English Instructor from Lamar College Orange and a rancher. He was also a Rodeo Promoter. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. A gathering of family and friend will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Larkin is survived by his wife Laurie “Weet” Franklin, sons Will Franklin of Stafford, VA, Hal Franklin of Orem, UT, Ted Franklin of Dickinson, TX, Tim Franklin of Austin, TX, Brad Franklin of Vidor, TX, daughters Lana Taylor of Vidor, TX, Susan Franklin of Nashville, TN, Ann Kofoed of Sandy, ,UT, Jan Franklin of Chicago, IL, sisters Mavy Palmer and Jane Hanks both of Vidor, TX, Joan Hatch of Vernal, UT and 13 grandchildren.
