Karen M. Hodges, "Maw Maw", 75, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, April 11th, 2018 at her home. A native of Gary, IN she was a former resident of Denham Springs, LA before moving to Vidor. Karen was a longtime employee of JE Merit and loved working at her job. She enjoyed shopping and going to the casinos but she especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family. "Maw Maw" is survived by 3 daughters; Susan Shelton and her husband Jessy of Walker, LA, Leigh Root and her husband Mark of Vidor, and Arlene Bankston and her husband Keith of Holden, LA, 1 son; Dale Rogers and his wife Amy of Vidor, 9 grandchildren; Austin Shelton, Matt Rogers, Wesley and Trey Gore, Tyler and Josh Root, Holi, Hope, and Valerie Bankston, 9 great grandchildren; Savannah Shelton, Tyler Browning, Casen, Caden, and Cambree Gore, Ally, James and Athena Root, and Levi Carlton. She is also survived by 1 brother; Dale Martin of Porter, TX, 2 nephews; Dale Martin, Jr and his wife Trista of Splendora, TX and Chad Martin and his wife Stacie of Liberty, TX and 1 great nephew; Dale Martin, III. She was preceded in death by her husband; Arlen A. Hodges, parents; Ed and Helen Martin, and 2 grandsons; Travis Gore and Kris Root. A memorial service will be scheduled for a future date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
