Julie Elizabeth Minton, 57, of Vidor, died Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Julie was a member of First United Methodist Church and Turning Point Church both in Vidor. She was the first woman in the state of Texas to receive American Farmer Degree which is the highest degree you can get in the FFA. She loved fishing, hunting, going to the beach, bird watching, and anything that involved being outdoors. She was very passionate about her mission work in Belize. That was her second family over there. She enjoyed participating in the rodeo her favorite event was doing barrel races. She loved going on family vacations and getting to spend time with her family. Julie enjoyed teaching kids a lot about judging teams. Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and the family will have a visitation Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Turning Point Church in Vidor, TX with the memorial service beginning at 6:00 PM. She was survived by her husband Thomas Minton of Vidor, TX, daughters Ashley Minton of Vidor, TX and Danielle and husband Travis Lentsch of Vidor, TX, father LD Whitmire of Vidor, TX, brother Clay Whitmire of Vidor, TX and sister Darlene Gibbs and husband Guy Gibbs Sr. of Vidor, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother Tony Bell Whitmire.
