Joseph Walker Coleman

September 4, 1919 — June 14, 2006

Joseph W. Coleman, 86, of Vidor, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at his residence. A native of Sieper, Louisiana he has lived in Vidor since 1969 and was a retired boilermaker engineer with Gulf Oil after 34 and a half years. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of the Port Acres Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was the youngest son and one of nine children. He is survived by his wife of 7 years Miriam “Mimi” Coleman of Vidor, sons Jerry Maldonado of Nederland, Steve Coleman of Vidor, Lindsey Coleman of Buna, and Tommy Coggins of Vidor, daughters Gaye Cormier of Vidor, and Brenda Plumly of Crosby, TX., sisters Ada Miller of Elmer, Louisiana, and Ollie Marlor of Sieper, Louisiana, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, doantions may be made to: The Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund, 4800 N. Main St., Vidor, Texas 77662.
