Joseph Swiger

Joe Swiger, 88 of Vidor died Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 at his residence in Vidor. A native of West Virginia, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Joe was a member, an usher and a former board member at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. Joe was an outside machinist for Texaco for 15 years were he retired. He served his country in the US Marine Corps. Joe loves to hunt and ride his motorcycle. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Dian Coleman, granddaughter Brenda Legasse and grandson Michael Wayne Coleman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Swiger of Vidor, TX, sons JC "Jr" Statum of Vidor, TX and Michael Swiger of Vidor, TX, daughters Judy Lemp of Vidor, TX, Barbara May of Vidor, TX, Sherry Willey of Prosper, TX, and Deborah Brister of Vidor, TX, sister Yvvonne Skiles of Silsbee, TX, 15 grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren.
