Joe Brown, 44, of Vidor died February 21, 2004. A native of Streator, IL., he lived in Gulf Port, MS., for 20 years before moving to Vidor 1 ½ years ago. Joe was a chief engineer and a merchant marine for 22 years and worked for Oceanrunner in Galveston, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 29, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Saturday February 28, 2004 at the funeral home. Joe is survived by his daughter: Melissa Jo Brown and her mother Carol Lynette Mosby of Vidor, TX., step-daughter: Amberly Faith Mosby of Hot Springs, AR., mother: Carol Berry and her husband Howard of Gulf Port, MS., brother: Robert Brown of Streator, IL., sister Debra Maughan and her husband Jimmy of Carthage, TX., Melissa’s Grandparents Wanda Cook and husband Robert of Vidor, TX., Roy Mosby and wife Dian S. Mosby of Garrison, TX., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Robert Brown and grandmother Gladys Webster.
