Jordan Carl-Patrick Millican, beloved son, brother and friend, was born Thursday, July 11, 1985 in Beaumont, Texas. His short stay on this earth ended Friday, June 27th, two weeks before his 18th birthday. Jordan was a life-long resident of Vidor, Texas and graduated from Vidor High School on May 31, 2003. He had planned to attend Lamar University in the fall and major in Computer Science. Jordan was a gift from God treasured by his family and friends. He was a wonderful person who excelled in many things – playing the guitar, computers, taking TAAS tests and the most important thing of all – being an excellent human being. There wasn’t a mean bone in Jordan’s body. He always tried to see the best in people and strove to be the best friend a person could have. When anyone talked to Jordan, they could be assured they had his undivided attention because he really cared about people and treated every person he met with the utmost respect and courtesy. He put a tremendous amount of weight into friendship and relationships and if you counted Jordan as your friend, you could always be assured that he would be there for you. He loved life, music, guitars and his car. Jordan was happiest when “hanging out” with his friends jamming on the guitar. He had the sweetest, kindest nature and will always be remembered for his laid-back approach to life, always stopping to smell the roses and savor each moment. Jordan also loved to be with his big brother, Josh, going to the car races or anything that Josh came up with. Josh and Jordan used to ride 4 wheelers and it was like a little pup trying to keep up with the big dog – Jordan always trying to keep up with his big brother who he looked up to in so many ways. Jordan would drop everything in a moment’s notice and rush to join Josh and usually Josh’s friend Dusty whenever he called. Their younger days of predictable sibling quarreling had matured into a deep devoted bond to each other that parents pray will develop in their children. Jordan, I asked your friends what they remembered most about you and they said how you always liked everyone, loved your car and how ice cream gave you a rash when you ate it but you ate it anyway. You had so many friends and they all loved you dearly. Jerome’, Micah, Brittany, Chris, Kandis, Shaun, Clate, Matt, Ryan, Big “C” and so many others will never forget you and treasure the time you spent with them. Jordan, our memories of you go on and on. Our hearts are broken that we’ll have to finish this life on earth without seeing your precious face again. We’re not going to remember how you left this world because anyone who knew you knew that wasn’t you. What we will remember is your long curly hair, your rosy red cheeks which gave you the “Gerber Baby” nickname you hated, your beautiful sensitive gray-green eyes and your sweet smile. God only takes the best and that’s exactly what He got when you walked the stairway to heaven to go home with PaPaw and Grandaddy. We blinked and our almost eighteen years with you flashed by. The pain of losing you is almost unbearable but it is tempered with the pure joy and blessings we feel to have had you as our precious son. You were our teacher so many times in how to live life and be a better person. We love you, we’ll always remember you and we praise God for every second He allowed you to be with us – a million years would not have been enough. Services for Jordan will be held at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Vidor, Texas, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 1st. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, from 5 – 9 PM.
