John Tyler Polk

August 24, 1925 — November 21, 2013

John T. Polk, 88, of Vidor died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at his residence. A native of San Augustine, Texas, He was a longtime resident of Vidor. John was a past member of the Beaumont and Vidor Rotary Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor and was a graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. John retired as President of Schaumburg and Polk Engineering in Beaumont. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Cremation arrangements where entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 5:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. John was preceded in death by his wife Alma Love Polk and grandsons Nathan and Johnathon Polk. He is survived by his sons John Polk and his wife Robin of Vidor, TX, Scott Polk and his wife Nita of Euless, TX, and Leland Polk of Corpus Christi, TX, 3 grandchildren Sean Tyler Polk, McKinsy Polk and Madison Polk.
