John Ralph Lamar

John R. Lamar, 85, of Vidor died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor since 1950, and was a retired iron worker with Ideco. John served his country in the United States Navy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Mansfield Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. John was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Alberta Lamar, brothers Eugene Lamar, and Jimmy Lamar, Sr., and great granddaughter Ciara Richard. He is survived by his wife Emma Jean Lamar, daughter Linda Marshall Matte both of Vidor, sister Helen Benoit of Port Acres, three grandchildren: Melissa Richard and husband Calvin, Archie Connor, J.R. Connor and wife Eileen, six great grandchildren: Shelby Connor, Madison Connor, Jordy Connor, Connor Richard, Kelsey Connor, and Trace Connor all of Vidor.
