July 5, 1930 — January 23, 2004

Joe C. Boldin, 73, of Rose City died Friday, January 23, 2004 at his residence. A native of Crenshaw County, Alabama he has lived in Rose City for a total of 2 years, and 10 years in Lumberton where he was owner-operator of The Dirt Pit in Lumberton, TX. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Joe was also a member of the American Legion in Orangefield, and the Teamsters Union in Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin Monday, January 26, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Velma, sons, Jack Evans of Odessa, TX., Joe C. Boldin, Jr. , of Las Vegas, NV., daughters, Connie Evans, and Donna Evans both of Vidor, Starla Stubblefield of Colorado, and JoAnn Helms of Las Vegas, NV., brother, Fred Boldin of Alabama, sisters, Caroline Chandler of Tennessee, Jane Adams, and Dot Bowen both of Alabama. Fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
