Jimmy "Jim" Alvin Okun Sr.

Jim Okun, 84 of Vidor died Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Woodville, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Jim was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in vidor and had a very strong faith. Jim's family said he was a great father and a wonderful grandfather. He served his country in the United States Military and loved wildlife. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home and a memorial will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Jim is survived by his wife of 12 years Treba Okun of Vidor, TX, daughter Georgie Okun of Kirbyville, TX, son Scott Okun of Buna, TX, and sister Jean Wheat of Vidor, TX, grandchildren Christina Bottley of Silsbee, Damien & Ashton Okun of Evadale, Sabrina & Jerrod Stevens of Kountze, Lori & Randy Johnson of Evadale, Tina Okun of Evadale, Kaci & Alex Ibarra of Kirbyville, Scotty Okun of Kirbyville, and Shyan Okun of Buna, great grandchildren Monica & Marcus Bottley, Reaghan, Slade, & Harper Okun, Jase, Blake, & Kayli Stevens, Zachary, Natalee, Jacoby, & Halie Johnson, Kayssli Ibarra. He was preceded in death by first wife Loretta Lockwood Okun, children Jimmy A Okun Jr., Lonnie M Okun and Tina F Okun, along with 8 of his siblings.
