Jenny Ruth Harrington

September 17, 1960 — August 4, 2024

Evadale

Beloved wife, cherished mother, and adored Nanaw, Jenny Ruth Fawcett Harrington, passed from her earthly life on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 63 years in Evadale, Texas, and is now resting in the presence of Jesus.

Jenny was born in Vidor, Texas on September 17, 1960, as the first child of Leo Daniel and Pairlee Fawcett. Shortly after graduating from Vidor High School, Jenny married the love of her life, James Linn Harrington in 1979 before welcoming their daughter, Brandy Cheri’. Jenny and her devoted husband of almost 44 years, James, are longtime residents of Evadale, Texas. She was a faithful, loyal, and completely devoted wife, as well as the best mother and friend to her daughter. Brandy was her pride and joy, her guiding light, and her most treasured accomplishment. She dedicated herself to being the best mother she could be and was always Brandy’s most heroic supporter.

Jenny spent many years working as an optician in Orange, Texas, where she formed strong bonds with co-workers and patients, always showing concern for their well-being and reminding everyone of the preciousness of life. Once retired, she poured herself into her family, who meant more to her than anything else in this world. Jenny was most proud of her role as “Nanaw” to her precious grandchildren, to whom she never wavered to show her unending pride and was always ready with a comforting word of love and encouragement. Her radiant spirit, generosity and steadfast love will be fiercely missed, but her legacy will live on through the beautiful and treasured memories she made with her family and friends.

We know that Jenny is enveloped by the love of her father-in-law, Hewitt Joseph Harrington, Jr.; her grandparents, Robert L. Fawcett; Jennie Coudrain Fawcett; Bessie Mae Hickman; and Cecil Ray Hickman, who passed before her.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Linn Harrington; daughter, Brandy Cheri’ Henley and husband Johnathan, together with her amazing grandchildren, Jaxson, Asher, Penelope, and Sullivan of Fannett, Texas; parents, Leo Daniel and Pairlee Fawcett of Vidor, Texas; sister, Kim Galaviz and husband, Ricky, of Vidor, Texas; brother, Joe Reed and wife, Angie, of Vidor, Texas; loving friend and mother-in-law, Ruth Harrington of Hemphill, Texas; as well as much-loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless dear friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.

A gathering for Jenny’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, 1750 TX-12, Vidor, Texas 77662. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 N. Main Street, Vidor, Texas 77662.
