James Nixon, 63, of Vidor died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at his residence. A native of Dry Creek, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. James was an Electrical Instrumentation Tech for Dupont in Beaumont were he retired from after 40 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He served in the 101st Airborne Unit and received the Bronze Star. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. James is survived by his wife of 41 years Diana Nixon, sons Kevin Nixon and Ja Nixon both of Vidor, TX, daughter Stephanie Phelan of Vidor, TX, brother John Nixon of Houston, TX, sisters Marian Pressley of Iowa, Barbara Pate of Hemphill, TX, and 5 grandchildren Valerie Nixon, Kade Phelan, Evan Phelan, Devin Nixon, and Bailey Nixon.
