James Thomas Whitten

James 'T is for Terrific' Whitten, 60, of Vidor left his family today Friday, February 29, 2008 to go to his heavenly home. A lifelong resident of Vidor, and a past graduate from Vidor High School, he was a warehouse purchasing agent with Printpack Polyethylene Plant in Orange for 39 years. He served in the Army Reserves for seven years. He was a proud member of the Orange Boat Club, was a avid golfer, and Golden Gloves Winner, and was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the funeral home. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years Elaine Whitten, son Steven Whitten, daughter Monica Whitten all of Vidor, brothers Jerry Whitten and his wife Sharon of Orange, and Carl Whitten of Tulsa, OK., sisters Frances 'Elizabeth' Hodgkinson, and Anna Marshall and husband Jimmy all of West Orange, sister-in-laws Laura Wallace of Vidor, and Barbara Tomlinson of Saratoga, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him very much. James leaves behind a lifetime of friends that he considered as family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
