James Rudolph Smith

James R. Smith 71, of Vidor died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, TX. A native of Vernon Parish, LA., he has lived in Vidor for 62 years, and was a retired lineman after 35 years with IBEW Local #390. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his sons Michael Jay Smith, and Clinton Wayne Smith, parents Gladwell and Essie Smith, brother Donald W. Smith sisters Jessie Powell, and Orelia Turner. James is survived by his wife of 56 years Delores Smith sons Donald Gene Smith, Gary Wade Smith and his wife Sheila, Randy James Smith, and Steven Glen Smith, daughter Penny Rene Bond and her husband Casey all of Vidor, brothers Jeane Smith of Hutto, TX., Jay W. Smith of Orange, Gladwell J. Smith, Jr and Larry J. Smith both of Wildwood, TX., sisters Johnie Fox of Leesville, LA., and Shiley Smith of Vidor, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
