James “Sunny” Haire, 74, of Woodville died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at his residence. A native of Pelican, Louisiana he lived in Vidor for 35 years before moving to Woodville 5 years ago. Sunny worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 25 years, as a grain inspector before retiring, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Rest Cemetery in Pleasant Hill Community, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Sunny is survived by his son, Maurice Haire of Vidor, daughters, Jan Dicken of Vidor, Shirley Douthitt of Port Neches, TX., brother, Melvin Haire of Bossier City, LA., sister, Merle Hakes of The Woodlands, TX., five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
