James "Jimmy" Smith, Jr.

James "Jimmy" Edward Smith Jr, 66, of Vidor, TX died Friday, February 2nd, 2018 in Beaumont, TX. A native of Beaumont he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a graduate of Vidor High School's class of 1969. Jimmy worked as a Pipe Fitter and tank inspector for many years and enjoyed reading in his spare time. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a Rosary service at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Jimmy is survived by his mother; Lola Smith of Vidor, 1 daughter; Michelle Southern and her husband Ron of College Station, TX, 1 son; Jay Smith of Bryan, TX, 2 grandchildren; Andrew Cole and Taylor Southern, 1 sister; Mary LaPoint and her husband Jody of Vidor, and 2 nieces; Elizabeth Gray and Halie LaPoint. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father; James Edward Smith, Sr. and 1 sister; Kathee Smith.
