James And Shirlene Humphries

James Watson Humphries, 81, of Vidor, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 together with his wife of 61 years. Shirlene Breaux Humphries. James was born September 20, 1935 in Jasper, TX to James Henry Humphries and Myrtie Hardy Humphries. James served in the US Army. James married Shirlene Breaux of Winnie, Texas on May 3, 1955. James retired from Texas Eastern after a lengthy career as a Mechanic. James attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed sharing this interest with his grandchildren. He attended all the games for his grandchildren sporting events. He was a lover of all sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. James and Shirlene loved traveling together.
Shirlene May Humphries, 80, of Vidor, Texas also, passed away Wednesday, April 19th, 2017, along with her husband James. Shirlene was born August 30, 1936 in Morse, LA, to Ambrose and Vina Benoit Breaux. Shirlene was a devout Catholic and also attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed caring for her family. James and Shirlene were very involved in the lives of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brother William E. Humphries, sister Opal Cain Smart and a grandson Colton Scott Humphries. Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Colton.
James and Shirlene is survived by their sons Ronnie Humphries and wife Joyce of Missouri, Mike Humphries and wife Kay of Tennessee, Edward Humphries and his wife Tonya of Nederland, Texas, daughters Sheila Alvis and her husband Lance, Dana Baker and her husband Matt of Vidor, TX, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, April 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and Christian vigil at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
