James Alan Midkiff

James A. Midkiff, 50, of Vidor died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Elizabeth, LA., James was a longtime resident of Vidor and a longtime Pastor with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Brother James was preceded in death by his father Elbert A. Midkiff, Jr., and his sister Rita Hughes. Brother James is survived by his wife Connie D. Midkiff, daughter Amanda Newman and husband Michael and mother Lena Midkiff all of Vidor, sisters Linda Cryer and husband Jerry of Leesville, La., and Betty Holt and husband Buddy of Casterville, TX., two granddaughters Trista Newman and Brianna Newman.
