Iona Joy Youngblood

Iona J. Youngblood, 84, of Brookshire died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospice in Houston. A native and longtime resident of Vidor, Iona was a retired bookkeeper with Perry Brothers in Vidor. Funeral Liturgy Outside Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Christian Vigil will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. Iona was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years James D. Youngblood, son James R. Youngblood, parents Henry W. Wilkerson, Sr and Ida Biscamp Wilkerson, brothers Henry W. Wilkerson, Jr., Hoy Wilkerson, and Leonard Wilkerson. Iona is survived by her daughter Rose Marie Youngblood Savoie and husband Jack of Brookshire, TX., three grandchildren: Clint Savoie and wife Ginger, Jeff Savoie and wife Amy, and Aaron Savoie, seven great grandchildren: Josh Connerton, Drew Savoie, Ryan Savoie, Ally Savoie, Jeffrey Savoie, Courtney Savoie, and Claire Savoie.
