Iley Max "Red" Oxley, 77, of Vidor died Thursday, October 8th, 2015 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. A native Kurthwood, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Max worked at the Evadale Paper Mill from 1967 - 2003 when he retired. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Max's interest were woodworking, basketball, baseball, bowling, gardening and coaching kids baseball. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Max is survived by his wife of 24 years Nancy Carol Oxley of Vidor, TX, sons David and Joey Oxley, step sons Gary Reel, Rickey Reel and his wife Teri Reel, daughter-in-law Kim Reel Kouba, grandchildren Sean Moncrief, Bradley and Kyle Oxley, Brittany, Corey, Chelsea and Rylee Reel, great grandchild Newt Smith, sisters Joy Broussard and her husband Benny, Kay Powers and her husband Jessie, brother-in-law Bill Stephenson and wife Linda. He is preceded in death by his parents Iley and Jo Ella Oxley and step son Michael Reel. Memorial donations can be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
