Hugh R. Haley, 72, of Vidor died Friday, October 28, 2011 at his residence. A native of Jasper, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Hugh was a retired inspector from Fitz and Shipman in Beaumont. He was a member and song director for North West Baptist Church in Vidor. He was a past member of the Home Builders Association. Mr. Haley partnered with Lamar University in the late 70's to build the first Energy Efficient homes in Southeast Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 31, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Hugh is survived by his wife Suzanne Haley, sons John Haley of Orangefield, TX, Paul Palmer of League City, TX, daughters Carla Simmons of Vidor, TX, Tammy Taylor of Nederland, TX, brothers Bobby Haley and Charlie Haley of Houston, MO, grandchildren Mackenzie and Connor Benjamin Haley, Billy Ray and Leanna Simmons, Christian, Angela, Paige, Katy and Anthony Palmer, Cody and Noah Taylor and a host of family and friends.
