Herbert L. King, Jr., 80, of Vidor died Monday, April 11, 2011 at his residence. A native of Port Arthur, he has lived in Vidor since 1964 and was a retired self-employed refrigeration mechanic. He served his country as one of the youngest veterans of WWII and in the United States Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Herbert was preceded in death by his sons Craig King and Roger C. King, parents Herbert and Edna King, Sr., brother Russell King and Ronald Buddy King, and sister Mollie Jones. He is survived by his wife Carolyn King of Vidor, son David L. King of Vidor, daughters Janeen King Ryherd of Vidor, Eileena King of Nederland, and Susy King Ryherd of Beaumont, sister Jaquelyn Lopez of Houston, ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
