Henry Robert Smith

Henry 'Robert' Smith died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Vidor Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas. He was born June 15, 1924 in Beaumont, Texas. Robert was a member of Maplecrest Baptist Church of Vidor and Pine Forest Masonic Lodge # 1420. Robert served his country during WWII with the United States Navy in the South Pacific. After returning home from his service duty he was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years until his retirement. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Helen Weatherford Smith, daughter Brenda Kay Smith. He is survived by his wife Willie Mae Smith, children Sandra Reynolds, Patty and husband David McKinley, Marilee and husband Bruce Wallace, step-children are Stan and his wife Heidi Bryant, Melanie Bryant, and friend Tina Carter, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren. A special thanks is given to Vidor Health and Rehab Nursing Home for the love and care given to Robert.
