Helen Chandler, 99 of Vidor was born in San Augustine County, Texas and died December 9th, 2017 in Lake Charles. Helen and her husband Preston lived in Beaumont for a short time and then settled in Vidor where she raised her only child, Brenda. They were longtime members of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Helen worked in the fabric department at Perry's in Vidor for many years. She loved sewing. She made chair bags for school children in Vidor well into her 90s. She loved God and loved people. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She was loved by many. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Chalmus and Callie Jones, siblings Betty D., Clarence Willie, Wayborn, John Ellington, Sue Nell, Mary Alma and Charles, husband Lee Preston Chandler, daughter Brenda Chandler Chatagnier and son-in-law Ernest Chatagnier. She is survived by her grandson Bert Chatagnier and wife Marla, great grandchildren Jeffrey and Hayley, granddaughter Larinda Bucklew and husband Shawn, nieces Ann Rogers, Betty Joyce Stroud and numerous other nieces and nephews.
