Harvey Luther Johnson, Jr.

Harvey Luther Johnson Jr., 68, of Vidor, TX died Friday, January 18th, 2019 at Houston's VA Medical Center. A native of Chattanooga ,TN, Harvey was a longtime resident of Vidor and served his country in the U.S. Army. During his time with the Army he was wounded and received the Purple Heart Metal. In his spare time he enjoyed vacations in Tennessee but he mostly enjoyed just staying at home with his family and his dog. Visitation will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Harvey is survived by his loving wife; Debra Johnson of 39 years, granddaughter/daughter; Skylar Armstrong, 1 daughter; Valerie Stinson and her husband Donny and son-in-law; Virgil Downs and his wife Krystal all of Vidor, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by his mother; Audrey Downey, 2 sisters; Shelia Gawlak and Connie Sonier along with numerous nieces and nephews. Harvey was preceded in death by his father; Harvey Luther Johnson, Sr., 1 daughter; Tonya Johnson and 1 grandson.
