Grace Jarrell

Evelyn Grace Lee (Lambert) Alvis Jarrell died August 18, 2013 at Oakwood Manor in Vidor, Texas. She was born April 20, 1920 in Joaquin, Shelby County, Texas to Charlie Barton Lambert and Mary Elizabeth (Collins) Lambert. Grace was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She lived most of her adult life in Vidor, Texas and surrounding towns in Southeast Texas. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00pm at Memorial Funeral Homeof VIdor, Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Fuenral Home. Grace is survived by her children: Gene Alvis (Erma Jo), of Bleakwood, Texas, Charlie B. Alvis (Muzette), Virginia Perkins (David), Mary Elliott (Kenneth), Kenneth Jarrell (Judy), Lynn Jarrell (Robin), all of Vidor, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands EC Alvis in 1943, and Durwood Jarrell in 1990; brothers, Bill Lambert, Henry Lambert and sisters, Jettie Wunch, Florence Jones, Charlie Ray O'Neal, Tennie Mae Smotherman and Mavis Vaughn; her son, Lee Jarrell and grandson, Kevin Elliott.
