Glenn Earl Coats Sr.

Glenn Earl Coats Sr., 81, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 21st, 2024. A longtime resident of Eufaula, Glenn was a self-employed salesman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially his love for fishing. He found joy in casting a line and spending quiet days by the water. Glenn served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Glenn is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Jeanie Coats of Eufaula, OK; his daughters, Teresa Sheffield and husband John of Woodville, TX, and Wendy Karnes of Tulsa, OK. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Gabriel Sheffield, Noah Sheffield, Kaleb Sheffield, Glenn Coats III, Brittany Coats, Brandon Coats, Taylor Emmett, Hannah Emmett, and JD Emmett. His legacy extends to his nine great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Glenn Coats Jr., father Norman Coats, mother Erma Jean Bowlin Cessna and sister Norma Jean Gibson. Glenn will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his peaceful moments spent on the water. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his son.
