Gilford Joseph Abshire, Sr

Gil Abshire, 69, of Vidor died Wednesday, April 28, 2008 at Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur. A native of Guedyan, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Gil was a maintenance worker for the oil fields and Wal-Mart. He was a member of Old Faith Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Old Faith Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Kirbyville, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Old Faith Baptist Church. Gil is survived by his wife Beverly Abshire, sons Gilford J. Abshire, Jr of Vidor, TX, Darren Abshire of Orange, TX, Frank Gennusa of Humble, TX, brother Wallace Cormier of Chulavista, CA, sister Leona C. Mott of Lake Arthur, LA, and 11 grandchildren.
