Genevieve 'Jenny' Morgan Norris

Genevieve M. Norris, 85, of Vidor died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Vidor Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Beaumont, she has lived in Vidor for 63 years and was a former City Secretary for 15 years for the City of Vidor. Genevieve was a longtime member of Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Maplecrest Baptist Church under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Genevieve was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Morgan and her second husband Daniel Norris, son Abbie Morgan, brother F.M. “Bud” Johnson, sisters Waverley Armstrong, and Hilda Johnson. She is survived by her sons Rusty Morgan and wife Mina of Atlanta, GA., Cecil Morgan and wife Patti of Vidor, Danny Norris and wife Kathleen of Brookshire, TX., and Bruce Norris and wife Nelda of Vidor, daughters Shelley Watkins and husband Steve of Birmingham, AL., and Cindy Mauer and husband Don of Phoenix, AZ., seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
