Gene Edward Ainsworth, aged 84, a beloved resident of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Born in Beaumont and a long-time resident of Vidor, Gene was a self-employed Master Carpenter who dedicated his life to his craft and left an indelible mark on his community. Gene was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in the quiet beauty of hunting and fishing. His love for nature was reflected in the memories he created and the stories he shared with family and friends. His legacy will forever be intertwined with the landscapes he explored and the craftsmanship he bestowed upon his surroundings. Gene is survived by a loving and devoted family who will forever cherish the memories they created together. He is survived by his children: Bill Ainsworth and his wife LaDonna of Silsbee, TX; Terri Spurlock and her husband Elton of Richmond, TX; Kenneth Ainsworth of Vidor, TX; James Ainsworth and his wife Samantha of Austin, TX; Laura Ashoori and her husband Ali of Missouri City, TX; Dusty Comb and her husband Todd of Mexico. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Francis Burr of Houston, TX. Gene leaves behind a legacy of love and family, as evidenced by the 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry on his spirit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ainsworth, his father H.P. Ainsworth and mother Irene "Nootsie" Mercer, his sister Patricia Cooper, and brother-in-law Gary Burr. As we remember Gene Edward Ainsworth, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.
